Why should you use (free) user testing tools?

Marketeers and growth hackers have many questions about their target-group and how they behave. The good news is that these questions can definitely be answered, the bad news is, you can't answer them yourself. Even though it's the most comfortable option to figure out the answers yourself by looking at user-cases, marketing theories or poke your seasoned and experienced marketing brain, there is still a very big chance that your answer will be completely wrong. Because in the end, the only people that can really answer those questions for you, are the real-users of your product or service.

Real-users are real people and they can use your product or service in a completely different way that you've intended to. So the only way to figure out how they are actually using it, is by getting a little bit out of your comfort zone and pretty much by asking them yourself. This is called 'user-testing'.

One way of doing user-tests, is for instance by creating a survey or a poll on a certain topic. You can create a form yourself and send it out manually to customers e-mail by using a tool like Google forms, or have it pop-up directly on your website with a tool like Hotjar. There are many great tools out there that can help you user-testing in different ways. It's hard to say that there's a best way to do user-testing. The user-tests for you really depends on your customer persona and type of business that you have.

If you want real answers to your questions, start with user-testing. There are some powerful free user testing tools out there that can help you out with this. So get out of your comfort zone and scroll back up to get that free user testing tool that you need! 👆
